ECO CLUB

Rockfield proudly grabs the golden opportunity of being an active member of the government authorised eco club run under the guidance of the Chief Minister of Delhi. Now and then, our school extends its efforts to create awareness about the environment we live in and motivates the society members to fulfill their obligations towards the real giver, Nature. Rockfielders leave no stone unturned working towards certain noble causes which are required to be given high priority in today’s scenario, when our mother Earth is endangered by the serious and considerable problems as global warming and climate change. Our eco warriors are committed to root out these by creating awareness among the society as to how we can preserve our environment and make our Earth a better place to dwell in.

EARTH DAY CELEBRATION

22nd April, 2015

An enthralling cultural programme was presented by the Rockfielders on the occasions of Earth Day based on the theme ‘Green Cities’ to show a great concern towards our mother Earth. The audience was mesmerized by the spectacular presentations given by the students through a small skit and a poem. A speech was also delivered by the Eco-club member to keep the environment clean and green. Besides this, a poster making competition was also organised. The motive behind this competition was to create awareness among students about environmental problems and remedial measures for sustainable development. Topics for Junior and Senior categories were ‘Save Earth from Habitat Destruction’, ‘Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions’ ‘Save Biodiversity and Recycle E-Waste’. Students participated with great enthusiasm and their relentless efforts were applauded by the Principal Ms Meenakshi Sharma by giving them certificates and prizes. She also urged the young ones to be good and responsible citizens.
